Other Music Stars’ Stage Names You May Not Have Heard Of!

For some reasons, some music stars have decided to change their stage names in several projects. Who are they? Let’s check the list below.

1. Coldplay/Los Unidades

Coldplay is an English rock band formed in 1996 by lead vocalist Chris Martin and lead guitarist Jonny Buckland. Recently, Coldplay received a 2021 Grammy nomination for the album “Everyday Life” in the cult category album of the year.

“Global Citizen – EP 1” is the 11th EP by British rock band Coldplay and their first release under the stage name “Los Unidades”. The proceeds of the album were transferred to Global Citizen. It was released as part of the group’s main concert at the “Mandela 100” Global Citizen Festival.

The album was released worldwide on November 30, 2018 and featured music artists such as: Pharrell Williams, David Guetta, and Stargate.

2. David Guetta/Jack Back

David Guetta is a French DJ, songwriter, record producer and remixer. David Guetta achieved great success with his 2009 album “One Love“, which includes hit singles: like “When Love Takes Over”, “Gettin ‘Over You”, “Sexy Bitch”, and “Memories“.

The male DJ used another stage name “Jack Back” to release a mixtape of the same name consisting of 12 songs.

3. Taylor Swift/Nils Sjöberg

Taylor Swift actually co-wrote the song “This is What You Came For” with her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris under another pseudonym called “Nils Sjöberg”. This song quickly became famous when it was first released, also fueled many controversies between her and Calvin Harris in the past.

4. Prince/various names

Prince is seen as a musical legend, famous as an innovator in music with brilliant stage visuals and wide vocal range.

During the 1980s, Prince wrote dozens of songs for other artists (Kenny Rogers, Sheena Easton, the Bangles, Cyndi Lauper) under various names including Joey Coco, Alexander Nevermind and Jamie Starr.

5. Harry Styles/Mick Greenberg

2020 is a great year for Harry Styles when his album “Fine Line” has received strong acclaim from critics and got many Grammy nominations in 2021. However, not everyone knows Harry Styles has another stage name which is called  “Mick Greenberg”.

According to MTV magazine,Harry Styles has composed a number of songs for Alex & Sierra, and may have worked on songs for Ariana Grande and Gavin DeGraw.

6. Elton John/various names

Since 1967 up to now, Elton John has collaborated with musician Bernie Taupin on more than 30 studio albums and together they have made a lot of hits.Elton John has sold over 300 million records during his career, making him one of the best selling music artists in the world. Elton John has also been one of the pioneers in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s.

Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” is a 1976 duet by Elton John and Kiki Dee. It was written by Elton John with Bernie Taupin under the pseudonyms “Ann Orson” and “Carte Blanche”. This product quickly became a big hit on the world music charts.
