NRL 2017 season is the 110th professional rugby league competition in Australia, and this is the 20th time that the National Rugby League is running this competition. Which teams are the hot favourites for this year? Which teams should you place a bet on? Let’s take a look at some of the top teams for this season.
Melbourne Storm were the runner up last year. Their defence strategy was among the best that we saw that season, and this year, they are likely to come up with an even better strategy. Unfortunately, they have had to lose some of their key players like Kevin Proctor, Blake Green and Marika Koroibete, but they have good replacements as well in the form of Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Cameron Munster and Josh Addo-Carr, respectively.
So, if the team is all set to do their best and will likely go far in the competition, then why not consider them for rugby league finals betting? After all, they made it into the finals last year too, and we expect them to see there this year as well.
Roosters are going to bring a lot of improvements this year, and so we think that they should be watched out for. They didn’t do well last year, because of those unexpected injuries and suspensions. But, they are going to make a comeback this year, and will likely soar to the top.
They have lost Sam Moa, and found hopes in Dylan Napa, Connor Watson and Latrell Mitchell. Luke Keary has also signed up for the team, which makes them a strong group this year. In fact, as per their coach Trent Robinson, the current team is the best that he has ever mentored so far.
Penrith Panthers didn’t lose any players during the off-season. The squad was already strong, and the addition of James Tamou makes them even better. Their key players are Te Maire Martin and Nathan Cleary – young, composed, and talented. A couple of years from now, where would they take the level of the game? Just think about it. Don’t go on their age; they are literally too good.
Mitch Rein provides good cover at two positions. Bryce Cartwright has been shifted to the 2nd row for better play. Plus, they have Matt Moylan, probably the best clutch player in the entire league.
So, the team has been delivering, and we expect the same of them in the 2017 NRL season.
North Queensland Cowboys
North Queensland Cowboys has been impacted by losing Ben Hannantand James Tamou, but Coen Hess covers up pretty well. He plays on the edge, and is one of our most trusted players. Jonathan Thurston is the topmost player of the competition, and we think that Kalyn Ponga and Javid Bowen will also leave us impressed.
They played an exciting game in 2016, thanks to Josh Hodgson. Expect them to take this a notch up this year.
